Oceania Coachlines is keenly aware of the need to be a good environmental citizen and has been so since we were formed in 2001.

For this reason, all of our fleet built new since 2001, has met the Euro emission standard which is now Euro5. About 85% of our fleet is now Euro emission compliant. The remaining tour coaches will be gradually replaced over the next few years by tour coaches that meet this emission standard or higher. 

What is the Euro Emission standard?
The Euro Emissions standard progressively reduces the amount of nitrogen oxides and particulates emitted into the atmosphere. The Euro4 standard has achieved a 30 and 80 percent reduction respectively. The Euro5 standard now in our latest builds, has achieved a further 40% reduction in nitrogen oxide emission. This is achieved by highly efficient combustion supplemented by a system for exhaust gas after treatment that converts harmful nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapours.

New Zealand landscape is our heritage and we are committed to reducing our impact on it.

We are also Qualmark endorsed visitor transport. As part of this endorsement, we are required to meet their Environmental Responsibility criteria. 

In addition, our tour coaches are star graded according to the criteria established by the Bus & Coach Association of New Zealand. This requires a star grading inspection by Vehicle Testing New Zealand as well as standard COF (Certificate of Fitness) inspections.
