The Bus & Coach Association (NZ) is the authoritative voice of the bus and coach industry in New Zealand. It represents all the major and most of the smaller bus companies in New Zealand.

In conjunction with Vehicle Testing New Zealand who independently test the vehicles, the Bus & Coach Association (NZ) have developed a star grading system for coaches which makes it easier for customers to compare the standards of service offered by individual operators and to select products in advance with confidence. 

Star grading is endorsed by the NZ Tourism Board, Travel Agents Association NZ (TAANZ), NZ Tourism Industry Association (NZTIA) and the Inbound Tour Operators Council (ITOC).
